I was hoping to avoid replacing my guitar - it was a gift, but, in the end, we're not much good together if I can't reach from fret to fret. Finger push up eh, thbbb ... I wanted to go ahead and learn on my own because I've been musicly active for a long time, playing flute, and hoped I could teach myself guitar ... perhaps I'm cheap:) I'll have to look into lessons - I guess I needed a little push from some other people to go ahead and do that ...
Thanks for the tips

Annie - before buying a new guitar, you can always sit down in a store and try tons of them out. Find one that works well for you. Don't get rid of your old guitar - once you get good on one guitar, your fingers will be much stronger and it'll be easier to pick up your other guitar and play :)
